Until 2015, the Louis Lesaffre Cup was the launch pad of the biggest international bakery competitions initiating a cycle of international competitions consisting of the Coupe Louis Lesaffre – the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie – the Masters de la Boulangerie. As a place of excellence and innovation, this competition aims to “promote the profession of baker and develop the quality of bread in the world. ”
At each edition, the Louis Lesaffre Cup has counted between 30 and 40 participating countries and thousands of candidates. Through rigorous and professional selections, and high-level events, it gradually trained each participant to be eligible for the podiums of the biggest international bakery competitions. The 4th edition of 2014-2015 has pride of innovation by integrating new events in the service of creativity and mastery of the international bakery, new specificities by opening the door to gourmet baking, under the watchful eye of an impartial international jury composed of members from “out of competition” countries. The candidates had to stand out by their know-how, their own techniques, their open-mindedness and their imagination!
Intending to participate in the future of the bakery, the Louis Lesaffre Cup opened the door to young bakers and created in 2015 a new competition: the Young Bakery Hopefuls, to highlight the talented bakers of tomorrow. Each Louis Lesaffre Cup team sponsored a young baker from his country to accompany him in his preparation for the competition and support him on D-Day.
For all lovers of taste, mellow, crispy … the Louis Lesaffre Cup is an opportunity to exercise his baker talents beyond borders and to the greatest, to soak up cultural diversity and push the art of bread at the peak of its creativity.
